Ruby Wedding Gifts

As i'm sure you know, the ruby wedding anniversary represents 40 years of hopefully happy marriage and in this day and age it's quite the significant achievement for a couple to celebrate and marriages like this usually have that something extra special. You know what i mean, when you look at a couple and just know they're going to be together forever! This is sadly all too rare and at this most memorable time of the couples life, they deserve memorable ruby wedding gifts that celebrate and recognise this special occasion. The big question is though what exactly do you give the happy couple? Well, a quick browse online will certainly uncover numerous ruby anniversary gifts which is certainly a great starting point but for that personal touch it really does pay to take a little extra time and thought to choose something truly represents your feelings for the couple.

Red is the colour motif for ruby weddings and therefore gift items in red colours are ideal as ruby wedding anniversary gifts, personally i wouldn't go overboard with the red but, for example, a silver photo frame or album with a little red bow or decoration is a timeless gift that looks both classy and beautiful with a hint of ruby red and makes a great gift for anyone celebrating their ruby wedding anniversary. Of course it would be nice if you can decorate the frame with colourful designs or decorations in red to make it even more attractive. Or if you're talented enough to be able to craft your own photograph frame and add a photo of the happy couple on their wedding day to it, then great, i always feel homemade gifts that one has put their time, thoughts and energy into are usually more valued as a present and can often go on to gain quite significant sentimental value.

The one thing i get asked time and time again by friends and relatives is how do you turn a ordinary gift into something special, something that will be loved for many a year to come. Well, that's easy i say, it's simply a matter of personalising your gift in some way, either directly through for example engraving a personal heartfelt message from yourself to the couple in question or by tailoring the gift to the personality of the couple. For example you may have their names etched onto a pair of crystal champagne glasses or include a vintage photo of their wedding day if giving a photo album or frame. The key is personalising it in some way, and if you do then such a personal touch can go a long way in the hearts of the receivers. Another question i get asked often is just where can they get suitable gifts, well, now i've created my little corner of the web hopefully i can advise you better, hint hint! It's not all about money or the financial value of the gift though, whilst lots of gorgeous ruby wedding gifts can be purchased in shops or online, if you want a unique and unusual gift to give to your loved ones who are celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary then you can make your own creation from scratch which will include your own personal touch to help make the gift that just that bit extra special..

Finally, me and the husband (even though it's usually my ideas! Love you hubs x) are often asked for examples of what we have gave as presents in the past. Well recently we had occasion to hunt for ruby wedding gifts when his parents approached their 40th year together. Well in the end we went with a two part gift, the biggest of which may not be suitable for everybody as it was very much tailored to his parents own personal history in that we booked them a weekend away in the bed and breakfast where they spent their first romantic weekend away together. It's a lovely little place literally in the middle of nowhere and we could not be happier with the look of surprise on their faces when they realised what the gift was, i have to say, that was definitely one of my better gift giving experiences in my life so far and just goes to show the value of personalising your gifts!

The second part of their ruby wedding gift was perhaps a bit more traditional and i touched on this very gift earlier, it was a pair of champagne glasses with these cute little silver stands and crystal hearts as we wanted to get them a little something to open on their big day as there was a big family party organised. I have to admit i love these glasses and have been relentlessly dropping hints into my sisters ear for a paid, hopefully for our own anniversary! Whilst hunting for these glasses it occurred to me that you could also give a magnum of champagne with a brief personal message inscribed on the label, after all what good is champagne glasses without champagne, or at least that's what i tell hubs when it's his turn to go to the bar, ha ha! Again with the personalised theme though, i know, i may be obsessing over it, but i really do think personalised gifts are the best and something i also stumbled on were pretty personalised anniversary plates or even simple mugs with your personal message engraved or painted on it would make great gifts. You can also request the glass makers to make a design for you because they often tinge commemorative glassware like bowls, vases, glass or cups or other decorative items with the colour you want.

Whatever ruby wedding gifts that you may decide to go with, it's important to remember that it's the thought that counts, always. If you can show that you've put thought and time into your choice of gift then it will definitely tell and you may just find that you've earned yourself a special place in the hearts of your loved ones, truly a priceless thing!
